Supplies:
- 1 picture frame
- acrylic paint (opt.)
- scrap of fabric the size of your frame, and small one for the pin cushion
- letters (I used stickers, no cricut here!)
- cotton batting stuff
- scrap of card stock
- scraps of paper
- glue gun
First, paint your frame! I liked the shape and size of this frame, but the color was not my favorite, so I decided to paint it black! But you could paint it anything you like! (Or even just buy a frame you like in the first place, but where's the fun in that?)
Next, cover the cardboard frame insert with a layer of cotton batting. Let it overhang a bit, so you can stretch it around the back.
Then, cover the board with your fabric, and hot glue it in place. Place the frame on top, and it's starting to look CUTE!
Next, I added stickers to the frame. This step is totally optional, but I wanted mine to says "In our Prayers". You could use vinyl, or even paint the letters by hand.
Now it's time to make or attach a pin cushion. To make the pin cushion, use a small scrap of contrasting fabric, stuff it with a little fluff and stitch closed. Easy peasy. Hot glue that to the frame and add a couple of pins.
Finally, make a small envelope out of card stock and attach to the frame, then stick a few slips of paper in the envelope for people to write names on.
Now you just need to find the perfect spot to hang your DIY Prayer Board! I put mine upstairs near our bedrooms so that our family can see it during prayers.
