Firstly, we have to give a HUGE congrats to San Charoenchai.
San was a finalist for the Trident: See What Unfolds campaign, and his animated video featuring Steve Aoki & Duran Duran took home the $10,000 prize. Nice. We've included his video below so you can enjoy it with us. ;)
SECONDLY: We have some information for you Mid-Atlantic Mormons. #1 - Our friends have started a new facebook page that is specifically for the Mid-Atlantic Mormons. Now, if you're like me, and terrible at geography, you might not know that you live in the Mid-Atlantic region. So here's the run down. If you're in Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or New York, you're mid-Atlantic. Therefore, this facebook group is something you should join & participate with.
THIRDLY: September 29, 2012. Day To Serve. We have SO much information about this event that our heads are going to burst.
IN A NUTSHELL: On September 29, 2012, there is a HUGE regional, interfaith day of service. We have Governor Bob McDonnell of Virginia on board. We have the Governor of Maryland, Mr. Martin O'Malley, on board. Governor Earl Ray Tomblin of West Virginia is on board, and even has an official proclamation! Of course, we can't leave out Mayor Vincent C. Gray of Washington DC, who is encouraging his district to do all they can.
The theme for this day of service is FEED THE HUNGRY and there are a TON of events going on in the Washington DC region. You don't even have to organize anything, you can just go to the website, and browse events that are already happening near you.
If you don't see a service opp near you, then create your own! Service doesn't have to be fancy, it just has to be done. Have a neighborhood canned food drive. Maybe take your neighbors dinner. Do what YOU can, and enjoy the process.
ALSO: follow the hashtag #daytoserve on twitter to stay connected with all the happenings.
